Thorns & Thistles Week 1 Bilingual
This message traces the story of “thorns and thistles” from their origin in Book of Genesis to their fulfillment in Garden of Gethsemane and the cross. In Eden, humanity lived in perfect harmony with God, but when Adam and Eve chose to distrust God’s word, sin entered the world and brought the curse—resulting in pain, resistance, and the thorns that now mark human life. These thorns symbolize the brokenness of creation and the reality of suffering, whether caused by our own choices or simply by living in a fallen world. Yet even in judgment, God promised redemption through a coming Savior. That promise is fulfilled in Jesus, who in Gethsemane submitted fully to the Father’s will and ultimately wore a crown of thorns, taking upon Himself the curse of sin. Through His death and resurrection, forgiveness and restoration are made available, and while suffering still exists, it now carries purpose for the believer. The story ultimately points forward to a future where God will fully restore creation, removing sin, suffering, and every thorn once and for all.
